Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is probably the single most important factor to take into consideration when developing your business’s Internet marketing strategy. After all, if your site is not optimized to its fullest potential, it will rank lower than those sites that are. Can you afford to be the tenth, twentieth, or thirtieth on a list of search engine returns? How likely is it that your link will even be noticed if you’re not on the first page of search engine results? These are questions that you, the modern business owner, must consider if you want to keep up in the fast-paced, highly competitive world of web marketing. These days, it is not enough to hire a marketing guru to design a flashy, user-friendly website. Now you must worry about how you will drive traffic to your site as well, and that means employing SEO. Move your site up the ranks by following these five tips for how to get to the top of search engines:

Develop the best, most accurate list of keyword phrases. Use keyword research programs like Wordtracker and Google’s Keyword Tool to compile a list of relevant keywords. Only use keywords and phrases that are directly associated with the content on your website.

Use keyword phrases wisely. Be sure to have the most important keyword phrase in your page’s header, then randomly place the rest of your keyword phrases in the content of the webpage in a way that is natural to the reader.

Organize your website according to your keyword research. When you use keyword research tools to identify appropriate keywords, you will also be able to get a good idea of related words and phrases Internet surfers use to locate your specific product or service. For example, if you sell sports equipment, you may find that people tend to either search by sport or by brand, and you can use that information to categorize your inventory accordingly.

Design your site so that spiders can read it. Spiders are the programs that assess your site’s search engine return value. Because spiders can only read HTML, you need to make sure each page, category and menu item on your site has HTML links. Additionally, your graphics should be wrapped in standard HTML tags if you want spiders to notice them.

Label your site’s text links and alt tags in a way that is descriptive of their associated landing page. Don’t make Internet browsers (and search engines) guess as to where your site’s in-page links will lead them by using generic terms like, “click here.” Instead, use a keyword phrase that indicates the content of the landing page.

Search engine optimization may be complex in theory, but it can be quite simple in application if you follow some simple guidelines. If you want to truly maximize your website’s potential, contact us, Intuitive SEO, for your SEO needs. We can be reached by phone at (954) 464-5867, or email: info@intuitiveseo.com.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of customizing your web content to search engine protocol in order to maximize your ranking in search engine returns. The better your SEO, the more people will see your website and the more subsequent traffic. Therefore, it is important to understand how SEO works. The process of SEO lies somewhere in the gray area between art and science, and is somewhat of a mystery to many. For that reason, many businesses are springing up, claiming to be able to make the most of your website’s SEO. If you are interested in assigning your business’s web marketing needs to a company that specializes in SEO, you need to be sure you are putting that responsibility into capable hands. Here’s what your SEO company should know:

How spiders work. Search engine spiders are programs that are designed to scan the information on a webpage and determine the page’s relevance. Spiders use your site’s content to rank it in importance among other, similar/competing websites. Therefore, it is important that your SEO company know what spiders are looking for and how they rank what they find.

How to optimize your site’s images for spider recognition. While programs like Java and Flash are great for web design and graphics, they are completely useless when it comes to getting your website recognized and ranked by search engine spiders. That is because, in essence, spiders only recognize text. Your SEO company should understand how to optimize your graphics with text so that they contribute to your website’s online efficacy.

How to create useable (spider-worthy) hyperlinks. Again, Java-based hyperlinks aren’t acknowledged or ranked by spiders. Any company you hire for your SEO work should know of alternate programs to use for hyperlinks in site applications like blog comments and posts.

Search engines change their ranking protocol often. Google is known for updating its search engine algorithms on a regular basis, keeping those interested in SEO on their toes. Your chosen SEO company should be aware of this fact and should make it an expressed point to stay on top of SEO updates.

You don’t have to be an SEO expert to maximize your website’s potency, but you may have to call an expert in. Make sure the company you choose for your business’s SEO needs is well-informed and intent on staying that way. If you want the services of a reliable SEO company, contact Intuitive SEO. We can be reached by phone, at (954) 464-5867, or email: info@intuitiveseo.com.

You’ve no doubt heard all the buzz about search engine optimization, or SEO. As a matter of fact, this recent craze seems to make businesses crazy in their efforts to achieve it. But, is SEO just a craze? A passing trend? And, more importantly, is it really that important that you devote your time and energy to learning more about it? In this fast-paced, technology-driven consumer market, it’s no wonder many business owners are left in the dark when it comes to things like Internet optimization. If you are one of the countless business owners who is still scratching your head when it comes to SEO, you owe it to yourself to read this and learn for yourself, “What is the big deal about search engine optimization?”

What is search engine optimization? SEO is the process of maximizing a website’s potential to be seen by Internet users. A website that utilizes SEO is naturally ranked higher on search engine return lists and, therefore, gets noticed more often and clicked on more often than websites with no SEO.

How does SEO work? First off, it is important to understand what spiders are. Spiders are the programs Internet search engines use to assess web content and determine how websites should rank on search results, according to the search terms used. SEO takes into account how search engine spiders work and what they are looking for, then customizes web content so that it is most likely to be seen and ranked highly by spiders.

In what way does SEO customize your website to optimize it? One of the most important aspects of SEO is the use of keyword phrases. Keyword phrases are terms that Internet users type in when searching for your product or service, and if you don’t have the most ideal keyword phrases in your web content, your site will receive a low ranking. Good SEO also emphasizes proper keyword phrase placement, optimizing graphics and in-text links for spider recognition, procuring off-page back links, and creating rich and relevant web content.

How important is SEO to your site’s success? Well, how important is it to you that people visit your site?

There you have it: the what, how and why of search engine optimization. It’s no question that SEO is both relevant and necessary to your business’s Internet marketing success because, as long as there are search engines, there will be a need to be ranked on them. The only question now is how you can optimize your own site. Put your SEO needs in the hands of professionals by contacting us, Intuitive SEO. We can be reached by phone, at (954) 464-5867, or email: info@intuitiveseo.com.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is increasingly important these days, as more businesses struggle to secure the highest ranking possible on Internet search engine results. Internet marketing is a fiercely competitive world, and if your business’s website is not optimized for maximum web exposure, it will, literally, fall behind the many websites that are. If you want to land your webpage on the coveted first page of search engine results, there are some things you can do to improve your chances by optimizing the site itself (on page), and the off-site direct links (off page). Follow these on and off page search engine optimization tips:

On page:

Create a unique, content-rich title for each page. The title and its description are perhaps the most important part of your site when it comes to SEO. Your title should contain your most important keyword phrase and the title description should be less than seventy words.

Prioritize your heading keywords. Use keywords in your headers in order of priority (H1 – H3). Crawlers use header keywords to identify important content.

Optimize your URLs. Your site’s URLs should have targeted keywords, and each page of your site should have a short, static URL of its own.

Beware of overusing keywords. Keyword density should only be between two and five percent. If you load your content with unnecessary keywords, your site could be ranked lower by search engines, or kicked off altogether.

Off page:

Distribute articles to other sites. Articles that you submit to outside sites for publication should have a link back to your site, and are a great and free way to optimize your site’s search engine presence.

Build an Internet presence outside of your site. This involves creating pages on social networking sites and bookmarking sites in order to drive more traffic to your site. Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon are good places to start.

Have your site listed on applicable directories. Providing a back link on as many directories as possible is an important part of a link building campaign.

Post comments on blogs. Commenting on blogs that somehow pertain to your business’s service or product is a great way to speak to online users who are specifically interested in your trade or industry. Be sure to add quality comments and include a back link to your site.

As you can see, there are many things you can do to improve the efficacy of your site’s web presence. If you want to get the most out of your website, contact Intuitive SEO, where SEO is our specialty. We can be reached by phone, at (954) 464-5867, or email: info@intuitiveseo.com.

Good grief, not another thing you have to learn about and try to figure out when you’ve already got so much going on with your small business?!

Yet social media really is something you should give heavy consideration to using because social media can be really good for your business.

Here are just 7 of the reasons why:

1. You can give instant killer support. Turn your occasional unhappy customers into raving fans by dealing with them directly, quickly, and in a satisfactory manner.

2. It offers ways to get your name out there and keep your name out there. Don’t get forgotten or left behind; offer discounts or limited-time offers or whatever works for your particular company. It’s all about branding.

3. Social media also offers you a chance to show a bit of the face behind the brand. This means a lot to people.

4. It’s another way to be found – you might not be found on the first page of a Google search if you’re a little guy competing against the big guys, but you can be seen when you use social media.

5. Social media gives you targeted traffic. The ones who stick around are the ones interested in your product and company.

6. Consider social media a much less expensive way to advertise/market!

7. It allows your customers a chance to communicate with you using their preferred method. Conversations are real and valuable.

If you need help setting up a Facebook fan page or want to know the social media do’s and don’ts, I’d be happy to help. Please contact me with your needs and let’s get you benefiting from social media as soon as possible!

I love small businesses; the people behind them are intelligent, creative, hard working, and focused! But I worry when I see them working harder than they have to on every aspect of their business.

They’re wearing all the hats and making things happen as best they can, yet they haven’t begun marketing online with a website. Having their own website could really take a load off their shoulders plus give them a whole new world of customers.

Why don’t they have a website? These are the 3 reasons I’ve come across…

1. They don’t know what to do.
They’ve been in business long enough to know there’s always a steep learning curve with something new – the technical details, the marketing details, the necessary insider info.
Very true. A real amateurish-looking, poorly laid out website can do more harm than good. A website should be more than one page filled with ads. Building a website is something that can be learned and some aspects of it are easy, but it takes time. Which leads to objection #2.

2. They don’t have the time to mess with it.
They don’t have time to learn what to do, time to get it going, time to keep it going.
Agreed. That’s why there are companies like mine that specialize in setting up your website and even keeping it updated if you want.

3. They can’t afford to.
Their business is just starting off or they’re not in the position to afford “luxuries” like a website.
A website is a necessity today and I would argue it’s better to get it up as soon as possible so it can help bring in clients. People like to check your company out online, it gives them more of a sense of who you are, and they like to buy online. A website means customers are global, not just local, and that should tell you your chance to profit from your website can far outweigh the cost of getting a website designed and “put up”.

I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m harping, but adding the online component to your business is so important. It gets me jazzed because I know how to put it all together and make it work for you.

So you’ve finally taken the plunge and put a website up. Congratulations, it’s a wise move!

“What? You did it yourself?

“Let me take a look… oh… ummm…”

Does your website scream amateur? It might be that you did put your site together yourself or you got your cousin, Charlie, who knows a little more than you do, to put it up for you.

Now cast a critical eye over it, as if you were your customer. While you may be proud of your newfound graphic skills, you may actually be scaring potential customers away.

Simply put, a professional website header and other graphics make your online business face professional by association.

If your graphics look, well… lame, then everything else is suspect too, even if you do have valuable information on your site.

A site’s graphics are so important, but often overlooked. If you’ve gone to all the work to bring new people to your website, don’t you want to leave a good first impression?

Take a look at some of the websites you like to visit and check out their website header, their “buy now” buttons, and the other graphical elements.

* Are they in keeping with the overall theme of the business?
* Are they pleasing to look at?
* Do the graphics in the content make the site easier to read?

The good news is you don’t have to be a graphics artist to have a professional-looking website! I can reveal my resources or arrange to have it done for you to save you time and hassles.

You can email or call me anytime to discuss this.

Here’s a reality check, or checklist, regarding your business. You can mentally tick a Yes or No to each of these…

__ I have a website that perfectly showcases what my business is.
The face of your website is the face of your business. It should reflect what your business is and does, and what your values are. This is important to remember as more and more people search via the Internet.

__ My website has professional graphics and design and looks beautiful.
Image is important. It doesn’t have to be all slick and over-the-top but it should be professional enough to be engaging and evoke trust.

__ New people are visiting my site every day.
People, aka traffic, are important to your business. Get that traffic through various marketing methods.

__ I sell products from my website.
You’re not just selling products but also your services and your brand.

__ I look at my site’s stats and know where my customers are coming from.
Knowing how people are finding your site means you can beef up the weak areas or put extra time and resources in the strong areas.

__ I use social media and there are links on my site.
At the very least you’ll want to consider getting on Twitter and putting up a Facebook fan page.

__ I collect names and email addresses of my site visitors so I can market to them down the line.
This is huge! Offer something people want in exchange for their email address and you’ll have a targeted list of people who are interested in what you have to offer.

__ Other websites have links to my site.
This is called backlinking and it helps your site get higher up in the search rankings. The better your site sits in Google, the more traffic you get.

Don’t feel bad if you marked many of these No. You’re not alone. But you can turn that around and make these all Yeses and get ahead of your competitors. I’m here to answer your questions.

Many businesses have figured out that placing videos on their website is a good move.

Why? Because it builds the brand name, showcases them as an expert, puts real people behind the name, speaks to new customers, gives important information, offers real live customer testimonials, brings in new traffic, and increases sales.

Here are some types of videos YOU could use to grow your business:

* Customer testimonial videos with real people giving their honest feedback. This is the social proof that will help you sell more products or services.

* A brief video introduction into what you do. This is like a video version of your elevator speech.

* A brief walkthrough of your website video. Show them the page tabs and the search function so they can find what they are looking for on your site. Also show them the contact page so they can ask questions or leave feedback.

* How To videos. Perhaps you can show potential customers how to use the product or you can explain how to purchase the best product based on their needs.

* Question and Answer videos. Take the typical questions you get and make a video answering them. This shows the customer you care, and also cuts down on your time having to repeatedly answer the same questions via email.

Video on your website can have a tremendous influence on your business, but there are some details you should know regarding how to get the maximum impact from your media efforts.

Please give me a call if you realize the potential of using video and would like to discuss it further.
